POLICE RECRUITMENT: COMMISSION REVEALS DATE FOR SCREENING OF 210,150 SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS Police Recruitment: Commission Reveals Date For Screening Of 210,150 Shortlisted Applicants :  Names of shortlisted candidates into the Constable Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force have been released. The Police Service Commission has disclosed that it will on July 1st, commence the screening of 210, 150 shortlisted applicants  for recruitment into the Constable Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force. The Commission said the screening exercise will hold from Monday, July 1, to July 28th, 2019 in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. The Commission at the close of its recruitment portal on Friday, January, 11, 2019 received 315,032 applications. The Commission got the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari to recruit 10,000 Nigerians into the Nigeria Police Force. Out of the 210,150 applicants shortlisted for screening, 182,926 are males while 27,224 others are females. ...

Posted on June 14th Mexican telenovela star; Edith Gonzalez has been confirmed dead. The actress was confirmed dead on Thursday by the official Mexican news agency Notimex and other TV stations for which she worked, Televisa and TV Azteca. Three years ago, she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer and was said to have been talking about her treatment and loss of hair, in a bid to advocate for cancer prevention. She also appeared on a couple of magazine covers. She was popular for her role in  ‘Salome’ and also played judge on the Mexican reality show  “This Is My Style.”   She is survived by her husband; Lorenzo Lazo, and 14-year-old daughter, Constanza.  RIP!

With a mix of determination and support, a man who worked as a janitor in different schools has worked his way up to become the new principal of one of the schools he used to clean.  Denver Public Schools custodian, Michael Atkins, worked his way up from janitor to his new role as principal, and part of his success can be attributed to how he approached his first full-time job cleaning schools. Michael disclosed that  "I took pride in the bathrooms I cleaned. I took pride in the rooms that I vacuumed.’’ He credits his transition from cleaning the hallways to teaching to his second grade teacher, whom he ran into on the job.  Michael says the teacher helped build a special relationship with him at age seven, and helped him get a job in the classroom as a paraprofessional teacher. The UAE on Thursday announced the summer midday break period and timings, during which labourers, construction workers and other out-of-office workers will be prohibited from working in the sun. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation said it is prohibited to execute work at the time of midday in the open places and under direct sunlight in the period from June 15 till September 15 from 12.30pm till 3pm.  The Ministry tweeted, "Kindly be informed that it is prohibited to execute work at the time of midday in the open places and under direct sunlight in the period from 15th of June till 15th of September from 12.30pm till 3pm."
